SPASH Sends 11 To State Swim Meet

The SPASH girls swim team will send eleven athletes — six competitors and five alternates — to the WIAA state meet on Saturday at the UW-Madison Natatorium.

The Panthers will be represented in 10 events including the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 500 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay, 100 backstroke, 200 IM, 200 and 100 freestyle.

Julia Stupar competes as the number one seed out of the Hudson Sectional in the 100 freestyle (51.11) and the 200 freestyle (1:50.30) Stupar will also swim as part of the 200 (1:38.83) and 400 freestyle relays (3:31.84).

Kennedy Gilbertson takes a seventh seed time of 57.21 in the backstroke and 2:09.59 (13th seed) in the 200 IM. She will also swim as part of the 200 medley relay (1:47.98) and 400 freestyle relay.

Also in the pool for SPASH will be Ali Scharbarth (200 medley relay and 200 freestyle Relay, Casey Summers 50 freestyle 24.64), 500 freestyle (5:25.25) , 200 and 400 free relay.

Anna Vandehey comes in as the ninth seed (57.01) in the 100 butterfly and will swim with the 200 medley relay, the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The Panthers come into Saturday’s competition as the 2017 Wisconsin Valley Conference and WIAA Sectional champions.
