SPASH Girls Open Season w/ Win

The SPASH girls basketball team kicked off the 2017-18 season with a 94-75 win over visiting Oshkosh North Tuesday night.

SPASH was led in scoring by Leah Earnest with 24 points. Madisyn Rogan added 20 and Maggie Negaard, 19 to pace the Panthers. The trio each dropped in eleven points enroute to a 42-32 halftime lead.

“This was a good first game for our girls,” said Panther Coach Kraig Terpstra. “We will look to cut down turnovers, rebound and defend better as the season progresses.”

Sophomore Leah Earnest dropped in a game high 24 points for the Panthers and pulled down 9 rebounds. Rogan added 20 points and Negaard finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the Panthers.

“I thought we played well as a team, especially on offense,” said Rogan. “All in all it was a good team win.”

The SPASH Junior Varsity rolled to a 50-25 final. Leading the scoring was Kylie Klismith and Joleece Pecore, each with nine points.

The Panthers hit the court on Friday, Nov. 17 when they welcome Neenah to the SPASH Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 PM.

Varsity Scoring: Leah Earnest 24; Madisyn Rogan 20; Maggie Negaard 19; Halle Gregorich 10; Jenna Bohanski 10; Maddie Fink 3; Halle Pavelski 3; Rachel Sullivan 3; Kayli Kostuchowski 2.

JV Scoring: Izabell Eppinger 10; Joleece Pecore 9; Kylie Klismith 9; Hailey Carlson 8; Faith Weddle 5; Kelsie Kostuchowski 4; Alyssa Standifer 2; Sami Huebner 2; Rachel Gidlund 1.
