Almond-Bancroft’s Baumgartner signs with Winona State

Almond-Bancroft High School senior Derek Baumgartner made his college choice official during a ceremony at the school Tuesday, Nov. 14.
An All-State selection in both football and baseball, Baumgartner decided to play baseball in college, as he signed a National Letter of Intent with NCAA Division II Winona State University (Minn.).
“It was my dream, so for me to get to play at the next level, it just shows dreams come true,” said Baumgartner. “I’m very excited for it, and just blessed with the opportunity.”
