Emil Burclaw, 97, Wittenberg, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Hennes and Rev. Augustine Bentil officiated. Visitation was prior to services Wednesday at the church. Burial was in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name for St. Adalbert School.

He was born Oct. 20, 1920, to the late Joe and Valarie (Ladowski) Burclaw in Rosholt, where he lived until marrying Eleanor Ostrowski. She died in March 1994.

The couple moved to Chicago, and he worked at Columbia Envelope Company, Krane Company and Malex Plastics for short times until he landed a position in accounting at CSX Railroad (formally known as Baltimore Ohio Railroad), where he worked for 33 years until retiring.

He was married to Lorraine Burclaw Feb. 18, 1996. They shared 21 years of marriage.

He was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Moose and Meals on Wheels. Most of all, he enjoyed bowling, bingo, dancing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Burclaw; his son; Ken (Connie) Burclaw; stepsons, Larry (Lisa) Schulist, Tim (Kelley) Schulist; stepdaughters, Geraldine (Don) Jelinski, Diane (Darrell) Hawley, Beverly (John) Rice, Bonnie (Bob) Ferkey, Arlene (Larry) Kizewski, Joan (Jerome) Hubbard; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Teckla, Lydia and Wanda.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Ostrowski; his brothers, Tony, Johnny and Leonard Burclaw; and his sisters, Clara Karch and Sylvia Kzoizk.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Team for their care.
