Emil Burclaw

Emil Burclaw passed away with his wife, Lorraine and family by his side, on November 18, 2017, at their home.

Emil & Lorraine were married, February 18, 1996. They shared 21 loving years of marriage.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Emil will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Hennes and Rev. Augustine Bentil will officiate.

Friends and family will gather at the church to share memories from 9:30 – 10:15 AM on Wednesday before the Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Emil’s name for St. Adalbert School.

Emil was born Oct. 20, 1920 to Joe and Valarie (Ladowski) Burclaw in Rosholt, where he lived until marrying Eleanor Ostrowski. Emil and Eleanor moved to Chicago and Emil worked at Columbia Envelope Company, Krane Company and Malex Plastics for short times until he landed a position in accounting at CSX Railroad, (formally known as Baltimore Ohio Railroad) where he worked for 33 years until retiring. Eleanor passed away in March 1994.

They had one son, Kenneth (Connie) Burclaw, one, grandson Joe (Kara) Burclaw and one great grandson, Connor.

Emil was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Moose and Meals on Wheels. Most of all Emil enjoyed bowling, bingo, dancing, and spending time with his family.

Emil is survived by his wife; Lorraine Burclaw, his son; Ken Burclaw (Connie). His stepsons; Larry Schulist (Lisa), Tim Schulist (Kelley). His stepdaughters; Geraldine Jelinski (Don), Diane Hawley (Darrell), Beverly Rice (John), Bonnie Ferkey (Bob), Arlene Kizewski (Larry), Joan Hubbard (Jerome). His Grandson; Joe Burclaw (Kara) and his great-grandson; Connor Burclaw, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Emil is also survived by his sisters Teckla, Lydia,Wanda, and stepson-in-law Tom Hanson.
Emil was preceded in death by: his first wife; Eleanor Ostrowski, his parents , Joe and Valeria Burclaw, his brothers; Tony, Johnny, and Leonard Burclaw. His sisters; Clara Karch and Sylvia Kzoizk. Step-daughter Mary Ann Hanson.

Special Thank you to family, friends and Hospice Team for the wonderful care and support to the final hours!

Emil was a blessing and a treasure! He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lorraine, family and friends!
