Busse, a third-grade teacher at McKinley Center Elementary School, was presented the award by former student Tyler Hefter. He cited her ability to make others happy and welcome at school. Hefter also stated that she inspires him and others not to be afraid to stick up for others in their school.
Busse is in her ninth year teaching for the district.
Each month students have the opportunity to recognize a staff member that has profoundly influenced their educational experience. The award is given in the name of Mandana Bliss, the first teacher in the Stevens Point Area Public School District.
