The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) men’s basketball team bounced back from a season-opening loss with a win at Buena Vista (Iowa) Saturday, Nov. 18, and will be back on the road when it plays at St. Norbert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Pointers (1-1) lost 60-45 to St. Olaf (Minn.) at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse in the season opener Wednesday, No. 15, before they went to Storm Lake, Iowa, Saturday night and knocked down a school-record 22 three-pointers to lead a 93-72 victory.

“I was extremely pleased with how we prepared for the game,” said UWSP men’s basketball head coach Bob Semling of the win at Buena Vista. “Once we got to the trip I thought we really locked in and we really were determined, and I thought it meant a lot to our guys to show some character and to make a statement about coming back after a disappointing home opening loss.

“It was a great team win,” he said.
