Local Memory Café Donates Fleece Blankets to Humane Society

STEVENS POINT — Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Memory Café participants are giving back to the community with their annual holiday activity.
Those who attended the Café on Nov. 8 made fleece blankets for the Portage County Humane Society. Memory Cafés are designed for individuals experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment.
The mission is to give participants regular, enjoyable social interactions with others in similar circumstances in a safe, welcoming environment. Participants are accompanied by care partners, family or friends. Memory Cafés are growing rapidly throughout the state.
