The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) men’s basketball team held off a second-half-rally to win at home over Hope (Mich.) Saturday, Dec. 9, and will have a busy 10-day stretch to cap finals week.
The Pointers were set to host Lawrence (5-2) Wednesday, Dec. 13, and will be at home to face St. Thomas (Minn.) at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, before they travel for a pair of games next week.
“It means everything to have good programs that will play us in an ongoing series,” said UWSP men’s basketball head coach Bob Semling of St. Thomas. “If you look at the last 15, 20 years, they’ve been consistently the best team in Minnesota, and they’ve been a ranked program.
“They’ve won two National Titles, and those are the teams we want to have on our schedule,” he said.
