SPASH Boys Fall to LaCrosse Central

The SPASH Boys basketball team suffered a 58-55 setback to visiting LaCrosse Central Friday night at the SPAS fieldhouse.  With the loss the Panthers stand at 3-2 on the season.

The Panthers jumped out to a 9 – 0 lead on three early 3-pointers and bumped that lead to 22 – 8 midway through the first period.

The Red Raiders closed out the first half on a 16 – 8 run and headed to the locker room down 30 – 24.

Central battled back in the second half for the win and improve their season record to 6 – 1 overall

LaCrosse sophomore Johnny Davis came in averaging 28.2 points per game and finished the night leading all scorers with twenty eight.

The Red Raiders finished the game hitting nineteen 2s, four 3s and went 8 of 14 from the free throw line.

Drew Blair and Drew Cullen paced the Panther attack lighting up the board with 15 points each.  Brennan Mueller added twelve. Blair cleared seven boards and dished out 3 assists.

Cullen rattled the rim with five 3-pointers and handed out four assists for the game.

SPASH hit five 2s, thirteen 3s and went six of nine at the free throw line.

The SPASH junior varsity dropped a 55-54 decision to the Red Raiders.  Steffen James led the Panther scoring ringing up 21 points and the JV2 team won 45-35. Isaac Eppinger was the leading scorer with 18 points. Noah Hofmeister added twelve for SPASH.

The Panthers return to action Friday, December 22 traveling to Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School for a boys-girls doubleheader.  The boys will play at 6:00 pm with the girls to follow at 7:45 pm.

LaCrosse Scoring
Johnny Davis 28; Terrance Thompson 10; Jordan Davis 7; De’Andre Davis 3; Jacob Servais 3; Tyrese Schultz 3; David Hayden 2; Charlie Masewicz 2.
