City Passes Revised Garbage Container Ordinance

STEVENS POINT — City officials made the revised garbage can ordinance final at Monday’s common council meeting.
In a 10-1 vote, members voted on slight changes to the ordinance. A few notable changes is that residents that are currently allowed to store their bin behind the furthest most point of a structure that faces the street — or on the side of a porch — will no longer be able to do so.
No further discussion was carried out on the matter by council members, and the ordinance amendment passed overwhelmingly, with the only nay coming from Alder Morrow.
