New monthly program draws artists to area

By Cassie Lennox

In a smaller room at the IDEA Center in downtown Stevens Point, a person appears to be resting at the front of the room while several others semi-circle around. In just a few seconds, though, someone calls times and the person shifts, pages flip over, and now a new pose brings about new lines.

The routine repeats, and by the end of three hours, a picture takes form, growing and developing through concentration of the model as well as those drawing him/her.

“I can guarantee you will instantly see the world in a different way, and it will be a good way,” said Greg Luedtke, facilitator for DRAW, a new program offered monthly by CREATE Portage County.

To read the rest of the story, pick up a copy of the Portage County Gazette at one of the many newsstands in the area, including gas stations and grocery stores. Or subscribe at www.shopmmclocal.com/product/portage-county-gazette to have weekly copies delivered by mail.
