Wildcard Corp Creates Community-Based Crowdfunding Platform

STEVENS POINT — Move over, GoFundMe; there’s now a local way to raise funds and support local causes, and it all stays within the community.
Crowdspire is a crowdfunding platform that seeks to separate themselves from the norm. Locally run by Wildcard Corp., this fundraising tool hopes to not only support local causes, but save them money, as well.
The mobile friendly website will host any fundraising campaign for lower fees, as well as ticket event sales and even parade registration. According to Wildcard Corp. Director of Operations Gregg Gokey, Crowdspire will essentially do anything other popular fundraising sites will, but the money stays local.
“The majority of your funds stay here in the community, and not only is it a local platform, but it’s run by a local company; we hire locally,” said Gokey. “Fifty percent of my employees are UWSP or MSTC graduates.”
Another option for those who start a campaign will be the option to integrate their social media page with Crowdspire, who will post fundraising information on their page at the frequency they like.
“The main thing is that we want people to know that there is a crowdfunding platform here in Portage County.”
You can check out two current examples of ongoing campaigns hosted at crowdspire.org below – the first of which is the Mechanics for Mutts fundraiser for the Humane Society of Portage County, and the other being Kathy’s Medical and Healing campaign.
