Creating Choreography: Showcase presents unique opportunity for local dancers

Dance isn’t about body type, age or talent. Dance is about self-expression. It’s about letting go and making an audience feel something with the way the body moves.

And without quality choreography, none of that would be possible.

Local dancers and choreographers will come together to showcase their work for the Point Dance Ensemble (PDE) Choreography Showcase at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Lettie Jensen Community Center in Amherst.

“The Choreography Showcase is an incredibly unique opportunity, because the entire show is student choreography,” said Gabby Sroda, a senior with the PDE. “As a student, there aren’t a ton of opportunities for your own work to be a part of a show, so this is an awesome opportunity that’s unique to Point Dance Ensemble.”
