Dugan Reconsiders, Will Run for Re-Election

STEVENS POINT — Nearly a week after Alder Cathy Dugan took her name out of the running for District 8 this February, she has announced that she has reconsidered, and will run for re-election.
In a letter to the editor, Dugan wrote the following:
“After receiving encouragement from supporters and constituents in the last few days, I have decided to place my name back in contention for the District 8 seat on the Stevens Point City Council.
Therefore, I will run in the February 20 primary election, and if successful, in the April 3 spring election. With “a little help from my friends,” I will have the resources necessary to run two campaigns.
Thank you for your patience as I’ve wrestled with my decision.”
Dugan will run against challengers Lynn Schulist and Allen Prosser in the Feb. 20 primary.
