Lake Pacawa Park improvements move ahead: Band shell construction to begin this spring

By Heather McDonald
This summer, residents of Plover will have even more to celebrate as the band shell at Lake Pacawa is one step closer to reality.
The Plover Parks Committee unanimously approved a scope of services with Rettler Corp. for design, engineering and bid documents Monday, Jan. 15, and the full Village Board expected to approve the same during its meeting Wednesday, Jan. 17, which took place after press deadline.
Village President Tom Davies and Village Administrator Dan Mahoney were quick to identify the reason the project is moving forward.
“The community has paid for this facility, and we really appreciate it,” Davies said, indicating how impressed he was with the community support.
The $561,000 for the band shell portion of a Lake Pacawa Park master plan were secured through donations from individuals, businesses and organizations throughout Plover over the past year.
“The community really came together to make this project happen,” Mahoney said. “We can’t wait to show it off to them … we’re excited to get this project going.”
