16th Year of Passport to Paradise – Rolling Out The Red Carpet
STEVENS POINT — On Friday, Jan. 26, the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA hosted their 16th annual Passport to Paradise event.
This year’s Hollywood theme was a big success. The event included a fancy buffet dinner, live music from the band, The Presidents, plenty of dancing, a costume contest, 50/50 raffle, and an abundant silent auction.
There were over 300 attendees at this event which raised over $36,000. However, the Boys & Girls Club and YMCA staff and committee volunteers realize that the success of this event would not be possible without the support of local businesses and several community members.
Thanks to event sponsors, donors, and attendees, new doors of opportunity were opened for the youth of Portage County. The Boys & Girls Club and the YMCA are already anxiously awaiting next year’s event, so save the date for Friday, Jan. 18, 2019 at SentryWorld. Make sure to dress in disco attire for next year’s disco fever theme.
