Allen L. Rasmussen Sr.
Allen “Al” L. Rasmussen Sr., 77, Plover, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. David E. Ficken presiding. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Forest Cemetery at a later date. The family asks those attending to wear Green Bay Packers or casual attire.

He was born Oct. 22, 1940, to the late Fred and Gladys (Marquard) Rassmussen in Junction City. He grew up there, attended the local schools and graduated high school. He was a lifelong truck driver, retiring in 2000.
He was married to Loretta M. Garski April 4, 1964, at St. Peter Catholic Church. She preceded him in death Aug. 3, 2010.
He enjoyed spending his free time boating, camping, fishing and grilling out in the summer. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved attending his grandchildren’s baseball games and going to Club Forest for chicken wings.
Survivors include his children, Sandy (Steven) Fletcher, Plover, Julie (William) Heindl, Mosinee, Diane (Mark) Beranek, Arpin, Allen Jr. (Keith) Rasmussen, Stevens Point, and Brian (Tammy) Rasmussen, Wisconsin Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special friend, Dorothy Kropidlowski; sister, Judy (Terry) Liebe, Junction City; brothers, Jerry (Barb) Rasmussen, Junction City, and Robert Rasmussen, Plover; and sisters-in-law, Shirley (Duane) Koscielski and Patricia (Michael) Piotrowski, both of Winter Haven, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Garski.
