Healthy Snacks Fuel Learning and Boost Student Success at Adopted School
STEVENS POINT — Students at Jefferson Elementary School were excited to receive 6,273 healthy snacks on Thursday, Feb.15.
Employees of Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation & Affiliates delivered the snacks to their adopted school after a weeklong drive that is part of the Great Lakes Gives employee giving program.
“Healthy snacks help our students stay more focused during the day, which increases their ability to attend and learn. Access to snacks can turn their day around,” said Principal Molly Demrow. Every classroom will receive a supply of snacks to provide to students during milk breaks, or as needed.
“We partnered with Jefferson Elementary so our employees could make an impact on student success at a neighborhood school,” said Amy Kerwin, Vice President – Community Investments at Great Lakes. “Together we’re helping students get a strong start on the path to postsecondary education.”
The Winter Snack Drive is one of several Great Lakes Gives campaigns held throughout the academic year.
