Robert E. Ciesielski
Robert “Bob” “Snuffy” Edward Ciesielski, 88, Stevens Point, died Feb. 21, 2018, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, after battling illness for the past few months.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Feb. 27, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover with Rev. Edward J. Shuttleworth officiating. Burial was at the Plover Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 26, at Shuda Funeral Chapel-Stevens Point. A rosary was prayed at the funeral home. Visitation also was prior to Mass Tuesday.

He was born on July 2, 1929, to the late S. Edward Ciesielski and Sophie Ciesielski (Biesek) at their family home in Bancroft. He attended and graduated from Stewart School in Bancroft. He then went on and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School May 28, 1947.
He was a concrete mason for 69 years. He owned his own business, Bob Ciesielski Concrete and Masonry. He was also employed at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids until they closed down, then began to work for the Stevens Point School District as a bus driver for many years until he retired.
He continued to do concrete work up until the age of 87.
He was married to his high school sweetheart Shirley A. McCormick Nov. 5, 1949, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. After their marriage, they moved to Butler and then to Milwaukee. They moved back to Plover Nov. 2, 1954.
In Bob’s free time he enjoyed taking nightly country rides with the love of his life Shirley, the late “Bubba” and the recent “Rusty” the two dogs they had together. He also enjoyed attending NASCAR races, and watching their son, Mark, and grandsons, Robert L., Matt and Scott, race at Golden Sands Speedway and at Marshfield Motor Speedway.
He is survived by two children, Robert B. (Joelene) Ciesielski and Mark S. (Cathy) Ciesielski, both of Plover; seven grandchildren, Terry Jaecks (Joan) Bloomington, Minn., Heidi Winterhack (Michael), DePere, Robert L. Ciesielski, Plover, Greta Olson (Luke), Appleton, Cory Ciesielski, Plover, Matthew (Mary) Ciesielski, Stevens Point, and Scott Ciesielski (fiance Becky Peterson), Amherst; 10 great-grandchildren, Emmett, Katarina, Alexander, Orion, Avery, Elliott, Aurora, Isabella, Brandon and Ashley; his brother, Edward Ciesielski (Beverly), Bancroft; and a sister, Gertrude Schulist, Stevens Point
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ciesielski; a daughter, Nancy Schmidt; a brother, Joe; and five sisters, Verona, Mary, Florence, Chris and Irene.
