Donaldson Foundation Provides Grant for Tutoring Program
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – The Donaldson Foundation recently awarded the Portage County Literacy Council (PCLC) a $2,000 grant for their One-on-One Tutoring Program. Through this program, the PCLC recruits, trains, and supports volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with adults in Portage County who would like to improve their literacy level.
“Some residents are locked out of opportunities due to low literacy levels,” said Kristy SeBlonka, director of the PCLC. “The Donaldson Foundation understands that investing in adult literacy is a critical part of supporting strong families, communities, and workforces.” The Donaldson Foundation’s mission is to positively impact the communities in which Donaldson Company employees live and work by supporting education.
“We are thankful for Donaldson Foundation’s support,” said Eddie Glade, president of the PCLC board of directors. “The adults we serve have a lot to offer our community, and everyone deserves the opportunity to improve their literacy skills so they can access better jobs, support their children, and so much more.” For more information about the PCLC, call 715-345-5341 or email [email protected]
