ROSHOLT — McZ’s Brew Pub, a micro-brewery and restaurant on Main Street in Rosholt, will celebrate its one year anniversary on St. Patrick’s Day.

The pub officially opened its doors March 3, 2017 and held a grand opening on St. Patrick’s Day.  Owner Kate Zdroik is planning to celebrate the first anniversary on the same date in 2018 – Saturday, March 17.

To mark the occasion, McZ’s will have food and drink specials and live entertainment that night, with the local band Trigger Trippers playing from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m.

The Trigger Trippers.

“Trigger Trippers play a great variety of country, rock and oldies,” Zdroik said.  “They really got the crowd dancing and singing last year.” Doors will open at 4:00 as usual, and guests will receive party favors to help them get in the festive mood.

A highlight of the night will be the in-house beers which will be served.  Brewing operations have ramped up, and Zdroik will offer 3-4 original beers on tap by March 17.  The brews will include a cream ale, a pale ale and a red ale. The rest of the taps will serve a selection of Wisconsin beers ranging from a honey blonde ale to a stout and a porter.

“Our taps have a range of beers to appeal to a variety of beer palates,” Zdroik noted.

Zdroik looks forward to greeting and serving new and old friends, neighbors and plenty of visitors at the anniversary party.

“I can’t wait to sing, dance, laugh and have fun with many of the people who have supported us through the first year,” she stated. “Without the great support of the local residents, McZ’s wouldn’t be a success.”

McZ’s Brew Pub and its partnering business, The Nest Art Studio and Gallery, took up residence in the former IGA grocery store at 178 N. Main Street just a year ago after a whirlwind renovation of the building.  The south half of the building was tailor made for the micro-brewery, with a kitchen, bar and brewery area.  The north half of the building was remodeled and laid out to house a gallery, classroom/meeting space, pottery studio, metal shop and woodworking shop.

In the past year, the businesses have hosted a variety of events including bridal and baby showers, retirement and graduation parties, painting parties, class reunions, fundraisers, and yoga classes. Once the maker spaces are completed in The Nest, they will host more and more creative events like woodworking, pottery and metalwork classes.

McZ’s is open weekly Wednesday through Saturday, with doors opening at 4:00 p.m. each day.  The brew pub food menu has evolved to include homemade pizzas, paninis, soup, salads and flatbreads.  Families are welcome and there are board games to keep the kiddos occupied while food is prepared.

The Nest is open when McZ’s is open, as well as during specially scheduled events.
