‘Twelve Dancing Princesses’ sneak out in Amherst
By HEATHER McDONALD
The Tomorrow River School District’s Acting Club will raise the curtain on “Twelve Dancing Princesses” at 6:15 p.m. Friday, March 9.
A spaghetti dinner (Lenten option available) will be served at 5:30 p.m. for those who are able to dine ahead of the community performance. No separate ticket will be sold for the dinner.
Tickets for the performance are on sale in the elementary school office and are $4 for children under 12 and $8 for adults. Dinner is included in the ticket price.
The cast and crew of 52 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students, with a few seventh-graders, have been rehearsing on stage since Jan. 4 in the district cafeteria.
“It’s fun,” said Evelyn Stokes, a fifth-grader who plays Princess Sandy. “It’s an activity I can do to wipe my mind from things. I like acting, and it gives me the opportunity to meet new people.”
