Farmshed to Host Beekeeping Workshop on March 17

STEVENS POINT –If you’re feeling extra lucky on St. Patrick’s Day, head over to the Central Rivers Farmshed for a beekeeping class.
Central Rivers Farmshed will be hosting a workshop about the fundamentals of beekeeping on Saturday, March 17th from 9am to 3pm. Instructor Buzz Vahradian will teach participants the fundamentals of beekeeping; providing a thorough overview for beginners with an interest in starting a hive and for others just fascinated with the lives of these super organisms.
Participants will learn about:
- Honey Bee Biology
- When and Where to Get Bees
- Proper Equipment
- Colony Management
- Diseases and Pests
- Honey Harvest and Extraction
- Properties of Honey
More about instructor Buzz Vahradian: Buzz is an experienced beekeeper and his farm (V’s Bees) is located in Wautoma, WI. They produce raw unpasteurized honey (actually, the bees do all the work). Their local nectar source is native wildflowers.
The workshop will be held at Central Rivers Farmshed in Stevens Point (1220 Briggs Court).
