Center Point Sweet Adeline Chorus to Perform at April Elks Dinner
For the City Times
STEVENS POINT — The Center Point Sweet Adeline Chorus presents “Steppin’ Into Spring” Dinner and Cabaret Show on Saturday, April 14 at the Elks Lodge in Stevens Point.
For forty-five years, Center Point Sweet Adelines have been performing throughout Central Wisconsin. To reflect on the chorus beginnings in 1975, this show will return to a more intimate cabaret setting.
The night will feature two quartets; the local “Yesterday’s News”, and “Humdingers” Region 3, Yahara River Chorus. Additional entertainment provided by the Center Point Sweet Adelines, dinner music by the “Stephani Sisters and Mom,” “The Neighbors,” Laurel Hoeth, soloist and Kevin Perri, guitarist, “Barber Babes,” a Lincoln High School Quartet, “Point Pitches,” an a’ cappella group from UWSP and the “Sweetettes Today.” Historically, the “Sweetettes” have been made up of daughters of family and friends of Sweet Adeline members and performed in Center Point Sentry Shows since 2004. Now all grown up, the young women are still singing today.
The festivities begin with a cash bar at 4:30 and dinner at 5:30. Dinner will be capped off by the Elk’s famous “original” cream puff. Cost of the dinner and cabaret show is $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and students. Tickets are available through chorus members or Karen, 715-592-4489 or Jim Laabs Music Super Store, downtown, Stevens Point.
Tickets are available at Jim Laabs Music Super Store, downtown Stevens Point and Heid Music, located at at 3201 Main St.
