Holding Company Retracts Housing Offer to State

Ronald A Stewart, who was committed under chapter 980 of the Wisconsin State Statute, the State’s
sexually violent persons law, will no longer be housed in the Town of Lanark.

After further evaluating their options, the holding company who purchased the property where Mr. Stewart was going to be housed, withdrew their offer to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

The announcement came Wednesday, March 7,  in advance of a community notification meeting that was scheduled for that evening. The meeting was therefore cancelled.

Any decisions by the state for Mr. Stewart’s future housing options have not been determined. No other sexually violent
persons will be housed at that residence either.

Complete coverage will appear in the March 16 issue of the Gazette.
