The proposed development project on the former Grant School project on Stevens Point’s north side has been delayed indefinitely.

The Stevens Point Plan Commission was scheduled to hold public hearings and act on amending the city’s Comprehensive Plan map to change the future land designation from government/institutional to residential; rezone the property from single- and two-family residence to planned development district; and make a final subdivision plat review for the property.

Origin Family Homebuilders, Custer, asked for the delay Friday, March 2, saying the firm “was dealt a significant setback to the Grant project at 525 Fourth Ave. this week that will delay the project for a substantial amount of time. For that reason, we’re requesting that our agenda items be omitted from the Plan Commission meeting on March 5, 2018.”
