Eleanor A. Slagowski, 98, Stevens Point, died Monday, March 12, 2018, in Stevens Point at the Atrium Health Care Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 17, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial was at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation was at the church before the Mass.

Mrs. Slagowski was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Plover, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Grzebien) Gawlik.

She was married to Prosper Slagowski Feb. 6, 1937, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. He died April 24, 2001.

They settled in Stevens Point.

She worked at Weber Factory and then at the Portage County Nursing home for 11 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Rollin) Janota, Bloomer, Irene (Charlie) Alderman, Burke, Va., and Linda (Tom) Hoffman, Stevens Point; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Teresa; six sisters; and six brothers.
