YMCA Announces Special Field Trip For Adventure Club

STEVENS POINT — This month, students in the YMCA’s Adventure Club will enjoy a special field trip to Mayes Taxidermy Studio in Stevens Point.
For over 30 years, the talented staff at Mayes Studio have provided exceptional taxidermy work to clients throughout the United States. In addition to working with animals native to Wisconsin, Mayes taxidermists mount and reconstruct big game mammals, birds, fish from Africa, New Zealand, and across North America.
Students will be learning about the art of taxidermy and hunting in safe and sustainable ways to maintain animal populations. Transportation will be provided to Mayes Taxidermy: 1262 County Rd HH, Stevens Point, WI The YMCA’s Adventure Club is a free program for all students in grades 4-7.
Regular club meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the YMCA Lounge. It’s not too late to join. New members are always welcome and attend for free! As with all YMCA Teen Programs, a Y membership is not required. Applications are available online and at the YMCA Front Desk. Club activities continue through May of 2018 and resume in the fall.
