Girl Scout Troop is giving back

By Heather McDonald
The Girl Scouts of Troop 6503 are assisting those in need, one person at a time.
The group of Cadettes and Juniors have been working for dozens of hours on a Little Pantry that will provide canned goods and clothing to those in need in a similar manner as the area’s Little Free Library program, whereby participants can take a free book if they leave one in its place.
“The thing I enjoyed the most was that I was helping people out and knowing that it was going to someone who needs it,” said McKennah Dancyzk, 12, of Madison Elementary School.
“I hope that this helps people of many different backgrounds in our community whether they are homeless or cannot afford groceries or toiletries,” she said. “My hope is that this pantry will help many people for years to come.”
