Lawrence G. “Larry” Kawlewski, 64, Stevens Point, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his residence after a brief battle with cancer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Plover, with burial and military honors at the Lone Pine Cemetery in Bancroft.

Visitation was at the funeral home Tuesday, March 20, and again Wednesday,

Mr. Kawlewski was born Sept. 25, 1953, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Sylvester and Lucille (Liebe) Kawlewski. He attended schools in Stevens Point.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1977. He was honorably discharged in 1981.

Upon his return to the Stevens Point area, he went to work at Jimmy Janowski Construction as a carpenter. Over the years, he honed his carpentry skills and was most recently employed at CAP Services until his diagnosis.

Survivors include three daughters, Becca Kawlewski, Mosinee, Courtney “C J” Getzloff, Waupaca, and Hanna Kawlewski, Stevens Point; his siblings and step-siblings, Betty Cornwell, Roseville, Minn., Shirley (Bob) Niemczyk, Plainfield, Mildred (Roger) Zblewski, Plover, Judy Kropidlowski and Tom (Cheryl) Kawlewski, Stevens Point, Rose Salvinski, Mosinee, Ken (Audrey) Kawlewski, South Beliot, Ill. ,Dan (Laurie) Kawlewski, Bancroft, Linda (Randy) Krutza, Belvidere, Ill., Debra Kluck, Plover, Jessie Kawlewski, Milladore, Ricky Bella and Joe (Jackie) Bella, Plover, Irene Peterson, Stevens Point, and Jason Hahn and David Bella, both of Wisconsin Rapids; and two granddaughters.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald Kawlewski; and three brothers-in-law, Joe Salvinski, Arlen “Corky” Kluck and Dave Cornwell.
