Louis G. “Louie” Ferdon, 68, a Stevens Point native, a Plainfield, Ill., resident since 1979, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service was held Saturday, March 31, at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Steve Hulke presiding. A committal rite and burial was at Linwood Union Cemetery in the town of Linwood.

Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ferdon was born Oct. 14, 1949, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Louis and Frances (Giese) Ferdon. He grew up in Stevens Point and graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior with the Class of 1967.

He received a degree in industrial technology from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

He was married to Sandi Newnam June 14, 1975.

He was employed for 18 years as an area manager of parts and services with John Deere Industrial in Moline, Ill., and was currently in his 24th year as a project manager with Baish Excavating Inc. in Plainfield, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Sandi, Plainfield, Ill.; three children, Amy (Jason) Rosillo, Plainfield, Ill., Sarah (Bob) Dyxin, Minooka, Ill., and Matthew Ferdon, Rockdale, Ill.; one sister, Ella (Bobby) Mendyke, Stevens Point; and four grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Jean Waterson.
