Sweet Adelines set to present ‘Steppin’ Into Spring’

The Center Point Sweet Adeline Chorus will present the “Steppin’ Into Spring” dinner and cabaret show Saturday, April 14, at the Elks Lodge in Stevens Point.
For 45 years, Center Point Sweet Adelines has performed throughout central Wisconsin. To reflect on the chorus’ beginnings in 1975, this show will return to a more intimate cabaret setting.
The show will feature two quartets, the local “Yesterday’s News,” and “Humdingers” from Region 3, Yahara River Chorus.
Additional entertainment will be provided by the Center Point Sweet Adelines Chorus, dinner music by the Lucia, Hope and Karen Stephani, “The Neighbors,” soloist Laurel Hoeth, guitarist Kevin Perri, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School’s “Love Notes” and “Barber Babes,” Quartets, and the “Sweetettes Today.”
Historically, the “Sweetettes” have been made up of daughters of family and friends of Sweet Adeline members, and have performed in Center Point Sentry Shows since 2004. Now all grown up, the young women are still singing today.
The festivities begin with a cash bar at 4:30 p.m. and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be capped off by the event’s famous “original” cream puff.
Cost of the dinner and cabaret show is $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and students.
Tickets are available through chorus members or Karen at 715-592-4489, Jim Laabs Music Super Store at 1045 Main St. in Stevens Point, Heid Music at 3201 Main Street in Stevens Point, or at the Elks Lodge.
Raffle basket tickets will also be available to fund special projects throughout the year.
