Florence Elizabeth Pukrop, 90, 2050 County Road J & Y, Rosholt, town of Bevent (Marathon County), died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Portage County Health Care Center while under the care of Ascension Ministry Home Care Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent, with the Rev. Rev. Agustine Bentil officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ladislaus Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Friday until the Mass, with a parish rosary at 10 a.m. Friday.

The Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Pukrop was born July 15, 1927, the town of Hatley in Marathon County, a daughter of the late Leo and Lillian (Zick) Hoppa. She attended Poke Grade School.

She was married to Edward R. Pukrop Sept. 13, 1947, at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. He died July 17, 1993.

After the marriage, the couple settled in the town of Bevent.

In her early days, she worked as a bartender for Ben & Jeanette’s in Shantytown and later worked for many local potato growers and Plover River Farms.

She was a member of the St. Ladislaus Rosary Society for more than 50 years.

Survivors include one son, David (Diane) Pukrop, Rosholt; four sisters, Sylvia Pukrop and Diane (Bob) Ganski, both of Stevens Point, Eileen DeMeyer, Plover, and Jeanette Bembenek, Rosholt; one brother, Gilbert Hoppa, Bevent; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Hoppa, Carol Zdroik, Linda Hintz and Virginia Lepak; and two brothers, Leo Hoppa Jr. and Raymond Hoppa.
