Thomas J. “Tommy” Strasser, 70, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point. Following the services, American Legion Post 485 of Rudolph will provide full military rites.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Friday until the services.

Mr. Strasser was born Dec. 18, 1948, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Halkoski) Strasser. He attended schools in Stevens Point.

He entered the U.S. Navy Feb. 27, 1969, in Stevens Point. He served on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged Nov. 13, 1970, when he was then transferred to the Naval Reserves where he completed his obligation Feb. 26, 1975. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device 1960, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal of Korea.

He worked for Bake Rite Company until its closing and then Worzalla Publishing for many years.

He was a member of the Harley Davidson owners club.

Survivors include one sister, Mary (Dennis) Worzalla, Stevens Point; one nephew, Michael (Carla) Worzalla; one niece, Denise (Worzalla) Rocha; four great-nieces; three great-great-nieces and nephews; and caretakers Barb and Jim Disher.
