STEVENS POINT — Point Dance Ensemble (PDE) will hold auditions for the 2018-19 season on Saturday, May 5 at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point (UWSP) Health Enhancement Center (HEC), in room 154 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Serious dance students, ages 11-18, are encouraged to audition. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of two intermediate or advanced technique classes per week of ballet or modern at an area dance studio and have studied at least two years of ballet.

All area dancers are invited to audition. The first auditions, geared to dancers ages 11-12 will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. The second audition time, from 11:00- 12:00 p.m., will be for dancers ages 13-18. All applicants will be asked to fill out a brief form stating performance and training experience. Dancers should bring their dance shoes to the audition.

The 2018-19 performance season includes the annual performances of the Choreography Showcase 2010 at the Lettie Jensen Community Center in Amherst and the Spring performance at the Sentry Theater in March 2019.  Company members also will participate in a Summer intensive and learn repertory by guest artists.

In addition, company members participate community outreach programs throughout Portage County. Visit their website, www.pointdance.org for more information about Point Dance Ensemble.
