The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.hollyfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Galloway was born July 15, 1931, in Stevens Point, the youngest son of Harry and Laura (Newby) Galloway. He attended Stevens Point schools and started working at the Soo Line Railroad at a young age.

He left his job to serve in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952.

Following his discharge, he returned to work at the Soo Line.

He was married to Carol Marie Klinkert Aug. 30, 1954, in Stevens Point.

Stevens Point was their home town until 1971, when he moved his family to Bevent, where he established and operated his trout farm, Silent Springs Trout Farm, until he retired from the railroad in the mid-1980s.

In the 1970s, he started taking the family to the Bayfield area, and scheduled fishing charters each fall. He bought a cottage on the shore of Lake Superior and as soon as he retired, built his retirement home on that spot on Bayview Park Road and moved to Washburn.

After retirement, he also became a fish carving expert.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carol; three sons, Christopher (Jolene) Galloway, Curtis (Bonita) Galloway and Carey (Jackie) Galloway; two brothers, George (Irene) Galloway and Phillip (Delores) Galloway; three sisters, Florence Yvonne (David Spindler) Lewis, Ida Mae (Fred) Buza and Rochelle (James) Pliska; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Galloway and Lovell Galloway; and one sister, Mabel (Neil) Hilmer.
