Plover Shooting Suspect Apprehended

PLOVER — After a day-long search, 18-year-old Alec Varney, the suspect in this morning’s Plover shooting, has been apprehended.
According to Sheriff’s Department officials, the capture came after numerous citizen tips, and Varney was located driving in the Plover area. He was taken into custody without incident.
At approximately 4:49 a.m., police learned that an argument broke out during a social gathering at a residence on Bluebird Dr., and 18-year-old Alec Varney fired a shotgun, injuring two young men, along with one minor stab wound to a resident of the home.
The victims have all been medically treated, and are expected to make a full recovery.
