Members from the Stevens Point FFA participated in the regional FFA Career Development event in Appleton, and three teams will be advancing to state competition Friday, April 27, in Madison.

Career Development Events (CDE) are career skill programs that include problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork skills. The participants develop basic leadership skills and critical team relationships.

Career development events reflect what currently takes place in the entire agricultural education program, including classroom instruction, laboratory instruction, individualized instruction and/or supervised agricultural experience. CDEs are intended to be an outgrowth of instruction. Also, it stimulates instruction in emerging career areas in the community.

Skill areas completed include dairy, horticulture, forestry, veterinary science, livestock and horse science.

The Poultry, Floriculture and Forestry teams will advance to state.
