Campus Band, Campus Orchestra performance at UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Campus Band and Campus Orchestra will feature a student conductor and viola soloist in a concert on Tuesday, May 1.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center. The Campus Band is conducted by Jared Dalgleish, associate lecturer of low brass, and the Campus Orchestra by Steven Bjella, professor of music and artist-teacher of violin.
The Campus Band will feature music education major Shelby Lutz, Oostburg, as an apprentice conductor as it performs music under the theme “Excursion.” Works will include “Into the Clouds” by Richard Saucedo, “Skydive” by Chris Bernotas, “Homeward Bound” by Brant Karrick, “El Choclo” arranged by Robert Longfield and “Prairie Dances” by David Holsinger.
The Campus Orchestra will present senior viola major Heather Konietzki, Neenah, as a featured soloist in “Trauermuzik by Paul Hindemith. The performance will also include music by Amadeus Mozart, Alan Hovhaness and Georg Telemann.
Concert tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out.
