One Dead in Fatal Almond Shooting

ALMOND — One man is dead after a fatal shooting in Almond.
According to Sherrif’s reports, a shooting was reported at a residence in Almond. Authorities would find an adult male shot and deceased at the scene.
The suspect was identified as a 31-year-old male from Almond, and at approximately 7:21 p.m. was located, and taken into custody without incident.
This is considered an isolated incident, which is still under investigation. As a result of the search, the Almond High School prom was temporarily suspended, and moved to a seperate location.
Once the suspect was apprehended, the prom was allowed to continue under police supervision. The suspect is currently being held at the Portage County Jail on unspecified homicide charges.
No further information is expected to be released until Monday. More updates as we have it.
