Obituary: Fred Herman “Fritz” Aschauer

Fred Herman “Fritz” Aschauer,82, passed away Tuesday May 1st 2018 at his home. He was under the care of Aspirus comfort care and hospice.

A celebration of his life will be held at his home at 996 Forest Lake Drive, Plover, Wisconsin on Sunday May 13th starting at noon. Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Plover is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at

Fritz was born on July 20th 1935 in Union Grove Wisconsin to the late Edmund G. & Edna “Voss” Aschauer.

Fritz graduated from the Agricultural School in Rochester Wisconsin in 1953. He served in the US Army from1956 -1958.

He was united in marriage to the late Clara Jane “CJ”Fox in Franksville Wisconsin on June 25th 1966.

By trade, Fred was a well driller starting in the mid-40s till he retired in 1999. His 3 children remember him always working to support his family. Jobs included snow plowing, driving school bus & bartending, where many people recall that Fritz always remembered their favorite beverage. Fritz’s hobbies included youth bowling coach, volunteer Fire Department,2cd Harvest food /interfaith food pantry. Fritz & CJ enjoyed many road trips and cruises throughout their retirement years.

He was a member of the Izaak Walton League & he was a pointers basketball season ticket holder. Special thanks to neighbor and friend of our Dad of 20-plus years Jim Garbe & family.

Survivors are Claudia J. (Michael) Weaver, Mary Ellen Aschauer, Timothy F. (Marla June) Aschauer,4 grandchildren, &1 great-granddaughter.

He was also preceded in death by his parents E.G. and Edna Aschauer, grandsons Karl Josef Aschauer& Fred William Weaver, his wife Clara Jane “CJ”Aschauer of 43 years. Brothers Ronald R.& Edmund L. & nephew Andrew Aschauer.
