STEVENS POINT — This spring, in observance of National Water Safety Month, the Stevens Point Area YMCA is offering Y Splash: A FREE water safety course the week of June 4-7, 2018. This course will cover beach, boating, and pool safety skills.

For swimmers ages 3-5, classes will be 30 minutes in length
For swimmers ages 6-12, classes will be 40 minutes in length

Classes begin for both age groups at 4:15, 5:00, or 5:45 p.m.
Children attend a one-day session, offered Monday-Thursday, June 4-7.

The goal of the Y Splash: Water Safety program is to educate kids on being safe in and around water. This is especially important during the warm, summer months, when kids are more frequently exposed to pools, lakes, and beaches. This course provides kids with water awareness and safety skills and gives parents additional confidence in how their kids behave around water. Registration is required in advance.

Registration is free and open to the public. To sign up call 715-342-2980 or visit the Stevens Point Area YMCA’s Front Desk.

Less than half of Americans can swim, and thousands drown annually.
Let’s teach kids to be safe around water.

More about the YMCA’s Youth Swim Lessons: Safety & Security in the Water
The Stevens Point Area YMCA offers multi-stage group swim lessons, as well as private, and semi-private lessons, to preschool children, ages 3-5, and kids ages 6-13. Classes are 40 minutes in length, with a maximum of 4 swimmers in preschool classes, and 5 swimmers in the youth classes, for kids ages 6-13.

During the summer season, from June 11-August 16, families have the option of an 8-week session course that meets once a week for eight weeks, or a 2-week session that meets Monday-Thursday, at the same time, for two weeks.

For more information on class stages and swim calendar, see our 2018 Summer Program Guide or visit the Stevens Point Area YMCA Front Desk.
