Obituary: Carl Sather

Carl Sather, age 78, of Waupaca, formerly of Amherst Junction, passed away on Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Theda Care Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born in the Town of New Hope, WI on Dec. 5, 1939, a son of the late Milo and Myrtle (Dobbe) Sather.

Carl graduated from Amherst High School. Throughout his life, he worked for a local dairy farmer, Colrud Feeds in Rosholt, dairy farming on his farm. He also worked for Faldet Farms in Iola where he met the love of his life, Lou Ann. They were married on Dec. 19, 2002.

He is survived by his sister, Marilyn (Jim) Holiday of Plover; three nieces, Sheila Holiday (Kelly Worden) of Stevens Point, Brenda Holiday-Lee-Araki (Nobu) and their children, Hannah and Myah of Varsailles, KY, and Cindy (Bradley) Dussault of Denver, CO; a brother-in-law, Harold (Lenore) Floistad; other close relatives and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann and his parents.

A special thank you to Judy Floistad for her kindness and helpfulness to Carl and Lou Ann and also to the staff at Theda Care Medical Center-Waupaca and Crossroads Care Center of Crystal River.

Funeral Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI on Saturday, May 19, 2018 beginning at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of service. Pastor Gretchen Anderson will be officiating. Interment for both Carl and his late wife, Lou Ann will take place following the funeral in the Greenwood Cemetery of Amherst.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to North New Hope Lutheran Church (845 County Road T Amherst Junction, WI 54407) or Peace Lutheran Church (293 S. Main St. Amherst, WI 54406). Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is serving the family.
