STEVENS POINT — The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra is pleased to begin holding the Betty Frost Jenkins Young Artist Concerto Competition on an annual basis, and invites aspiring young musicians in grades 9 through 12 (or equivalent) during the 2018-19 school year to submit applications. The competition will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The mission of the competition is to provide a high-quality performance experience for the finest young musicians from central Wisconsin, and to assist them in pursuing advanced study. The winner of the competition will receive a $500 cash scholarship made possible through the Betty Frost Jenkins Young Artist Concerto Competition Fund, and will perform as the featured soloist with the CWSO on the December 1^st and 2^nd concerts under the direction of Dr. Patrick Miles.

Applicants (or their primary music teacher) must reside within the following geographical boundaries: Highway 2/Michigan (north), Highway 21 (south), Highway 13 (west), and Highway 45 (east).
