Obituary: Myril A. Brown

Myril A. Brown age 80, of Stevens Point passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon May 16, 2018 at St. Michaels Hospital.

Services for Myril will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 19, 2018 at the Plover/Shuda Funeral Home: 2400 Plover Road, Plover. Pastor Brian Richard will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home in Plover. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AMuntil the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Plover Cemetery. A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established at a later date.

Myril was born March 20, 1938 in Hancock, WI, the son of Lloyd and Edna (Bates) Brown. He graduated from Tri County High School in 1956. Myril married Carol Staven on January 5, 1962 in Hancock. The couple settled in Wisconsin Rapids before moving to Waukesha.

Myril drove truck for Motor Transport from 1966-79, was terminal manager for Nuendorf in ’79-’80, a dispatcher for ABF from ’80-’82, and retired as a driver for USF Freight Lines after 21 years of service in 2003.
A proud member of Grace Baptist Church, Myril served as a deacon, usher, greeter, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all Myril loved spending time with his family and playing games with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Myril is survived by his wife Carol, their daughter Julie Nielsen, Plover; two sons: Scott (Theresa) Brown, Adams, WI and Daniel (Terry) Brown, Mauston. 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Three brothers: Lyle (Donna) Brown, Anchorage, Ak; Tom (Nancy) Brown, Fairwater, WI, and Lloyd Jr. Four sisters: Arvilla (Billie) Avery, Wisconsin Dells; JoAnn Bickle, Clarksville, TN; Judy (Larry) Bacon, Hancock and Joyce (Duane) Dompke, Stevens Point . He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Otis and Ben.
