Obituary: Joyce Miller

Joyce A. Miller, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca, WI.  She was born October 26, 1937 in Weyauwega, WI; daughter of Allen and Irene (Cheney) Faulks.  Joyce’s mother, Irene, passed away when she was only one year old and her father and grandmother, Alice Quimby, helped in raising her.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst.  Joyce will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her seven children, Darrell (Margo) Bartel of Waupaca, Pamela (Dave) Engle of Waupaca, Brian (Carol) Bartel of Waupaca, Kelly (Jim) McBride of Waupaca, Wendy (Tim) Morey of Waupaca, Kathi (Joel) Bartel of Waupaca, and Tonya (Tyler) Dillingham of Stevens Point; fourteen grandchildren, Holly Jo Underberg of Sheboygan Falls, Tiffany (Ryan) Kraft of DePere, Zachery (Sam Holtane) Bartel of Waupaca, Nicholas (Clare) Bartel of Bozeman, MT, Jacob Bartel of Waupaca, Eddie and Mackenzie Morey of Waupaca, Benjamin, Hannah, Elijah, and Elliot Bartel of Waupaca, and Brady, Gavin, and Mason Dillingham of Stevens Point; four great-grandchildren, Mallory Jo, Nora, and Sydney Underberg and Ella Kraft; two bonus great-grandchildren, Hanna and Nehemiah Kraft; and two sisters, Jane Buck of Waupaca and Louise Kintopf of Algoma.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Faulks; her father and step-mother, Allen and Fern Faulks; husbands, Ronald Kjendalen and Arlie Bartel; an infant brother; an infant sister, Debbie Faulks; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Buck and Norbert Kintopf.

A Funeral Service will be on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 4:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst, WI.  Reverend Don Johnson will officiate.  A visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the church.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst following the service on Sunday.  The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
