City officials have announced closings on Division Street and Northpoint Drive as construction for the roundabout gets underway.

STEVENS POINT — American Asphalt will close the Division St. (Business 51) and North Point Dr. intersection at approx. 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 7. Both ramps from I-39 to Division St. will be closed. The closure is expected to last until August 30, 2018.

-Northbound traffic will be detoured to the Highway 66 West/Main Street exit.

-Southbound traffic will be detoured to the Highway 66 East/Stanley Street exit.

-The closure on the east side of the intersection will be located at Sentry Insurance’s westernmost driveway. Traffic can access the east side via North Reserve Street, Stanley Street, Maria Drive, and North Point Drive.

-The closure on the west side of the intersection will be located 400 feet west of Prentice Street. Prentice Street is currently closed for the Sentry Insurance new office building construction project. Traffic can access the west side of the project via Maria Drive, North Second Street, and North Point Drive.

-The closure on the south side of the intersection on Division Street will be located on the north side of the Culver’s & Stevens Point Visitors Bureau entrance.
