Pacelli softball earns trip to State Tournament
The top-ranked Pacelli Catholic High School softball team (25-0) advanced to the WIAA Division 4 State Tournament with a 1-0 win over Spencer (16-5) in a Sectional Final at Markesan Thursday, May 31.
Junior Karah Kluck earned the win in the circle, and with the game tied 0-0 with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, junior right fielder Teesa Shafranski came through with a RBI single to score Kluck with the game’s only run.
Pacelli will face second-ranked Horicon (26-1) in a WIAA Division 4 State Semifinal at Goodman Diamond in Madison at 8 a.m. Friday, June 8.
