Local Resident Celebrates 95th Birthday

STEVENS POINT — Betty June Frost Jenkins recently celebrated her 95th birthday with family and friends.
Local family included daughter Susan (Chandler) Goetting and son Bill (Teri) Jenkins. Betty was born May 21, 1923 in Stevens Point, the daughter of George and Edna Frost. She was raised in Stevens Point and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1940 and UW-Stevens Point in 1963. She recalls spending hours in the Frost Fly Factory on Strongs Avenue run by her father and her great aunt Carrie Frost.
Betty married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Jenkins in 1943. In the decades following the war they became an integral part of the Portage County community. Bob was an attorney, District Attorney, and county and circuit court judge. He died in 2008.
Betty continues to live in her home and remain active in the community.
